Work permit vs visa concern

Hey guys.. a good friend of mine is having a valid Canadian work permit but her visa has expired, preventing her from travelling abroad and returning. Her company is refusing to renew her visa until near the expiration of her work permit. What can be done here, given that my friend may have to travel for unforeseen emergencies?

I am assuming you mean her work permit has not expired yet but is close to expiring.

She can travel to and from Canada during the validity of a TRV based on her work permit, unless she has citizenship from a visa free country.

However, if she needs to apply for a TRV, she should note that they usually will not grant her one that surpasses the expiration date of her work permit.

Your post is a bit confusing. She can apply for a TRV on her own.

As scylla said, she can just apply for a TRV herself. She doesn't need her company to do it.
