Hi Everyone, I want to confirm some of the questions I have with my work permit.

I have a closed work permit (recently received). Another employer offered me a job. They are in a process of applying for an LMIA.

My question is
1. This is a basic question - I can change my employer if the new employer will get me a work permit with a new LMIA?

2. When I do that, should I use the Change Conditions, Extend My Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker [IMM 5710] form?

3. If I apply online, can I stay in Canada? WIll the new Work Permit mailed to me?

4. My daughter is 18. When she turns 19, what does she need? she is not planning to attend a university. But I was wondering if she could get a work permit. If not, should she apply for a visitor visa?

Thank you so much.

1. No - you cannot change your employer. You need to apply for a brand new work permit.
2. See above. You need a new work permit.
3. Yes - you can apply from within Canada.
4. No - she does not qualify for a work permit. She can apply to change her status to visitor.

Okay thank you.
May be i was not really clear.

1. My question was more about the possibility. Is there any restriction in me applying for a work permit with new employer and new lmia, if i am in canada with a different closed work permit?

2. Okay but to apply for a new work permit, i still use that form dont I?

3. Which means she would not be able to stay with me foe the period of my work peemit. She would have to apply for an extension of her visa. Am i correct?

1. No restrictions.
2. Yes - make sure you select the option for applying for a new work permit.
3. Yes - she needs to apply for an extension to be allowed to continue to stay in Canada. It's quite possible she may be refused at some point and have to return home.
