Hello friends,

I've applied for the Canadian visa on the online system last week. However, I'm worried about whether I made a mistake during the application. I want to ask you two questions. Since i will come there with my spouse, she applied for spouse open work permit. There was a question in the online system :

Are you of working age, and a dependent of a person who is (or will be):
working in Canada,
or a full-time student at a designated learning institution?

I answered yes for this question because of my spouse. Did I answer this question incorrectly? In addition, There were two options when I applied. the first one was "Foreign Worker (visitor's visa required)" and the second was "Open work permit (Outside Canada)". I chose "Open work permit (Outside Canada)" and after they asked me "What type of work permit do you want to apply for?". Then i chose "A work permit with a Labour Market Impact Assessment exemption". I hope I made my application correctly.

First one is wrong you are not a dependent your wife is.

Second one depends under which type of work permit you are applying and how are you exempt from LMIA.

Answering these questions wrong does not necessarily mean your application will be rejected if you provide rhe right docs and fill the forms correctly you can still get it.

Hi bongman,
I have two visa type options after i finish answering questions.

Foreign worker (visitor visa required) and
Open work permit

Which one i should chose as a postdoc fellow?
