Hi,

I would be grateful if you could help me with this issue.

I applied for a work permit within the Canadian-Czech mobility youth program. Today my parents in the Czech Republic received my passport with visa and the confirmation letter that my application had been approved. I am still in Canada so my parents will send me my passport and the letter to Vancouver.

Now I am not sure what to do to get work permit because in the letter there is written that the immigration officer at the port of entry will issue WP.

Thank you for advice.

You go to a border point, (probably Douglas/Pacific Hwy) go to the US side, tell them you wish to return to Canada for a work permit. They will issue you a rejection letter( no effect on further US entries). You return to the Canadian side and get your work permit. I assume that you have a TRV stamped in your passport.

If you are driving you may not even have to cross the border, just do a u-turn and explain to the guard you're just there to get your work permit (Blaine: Douglas Crossing)
