Work Permit For 1 Year

Hi, I got work permit from IT company where I work. but its for 1 year only and I want to plan baby as well.
So will I get work permit extension if I concieve ?
do i need to go for medical exam for extension of work permit?
should i apply for BC PNP PR and how much time will it take to get PR?

You’d need to have another job to get the extension or be in the process of getting PR. Multiple issues that you’ll need to consider like whether you will end up with maternity leave payments based on your status and whether you’ll end up without medical insurance if you don’t have another job and LMIA lined up or your PR application is not in process. If pregnant it could be much more difficult to get another job offer because the employer knows you’ll likely be taking time off.
