Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi guys, i receive my work permit last febuarary 5th 2012 but my employer put the start of date on feb 1st w/c is the approval of my work permit, is this a big problem or not toward to my PR? I am a live in caregiver by the way. Thanks in advance guys

Ask your exployer to correct your start date... since you received the permit on Feb 5th, the employer could use Feb 6th as start date.

Do you think we can still change it even though it was last year?

Hmm... I don't know... the visa officer may not consider it a big deal since the start date is not earlier than the date of approval. Check with the CIC call centre or ask a lawyer.

That was my employer said too, is not a big deal, he said, he just put that date to make it formal. I phone the CIC call centre this day but it always busy, so i dont know, i am very worry about that thing because i am going to pass my application for PR soon and i will be use the 22 months w/c is the hours so obviously the officer will be notice that date of start because of the time sheet so im so worry about it :((

Thursday is a good day to call CIC, they are less busy. If I'm not mistaken, the prompts are 1,1,1,0 to speak to an agent. You have to try many times and expect to be on hold for at least 10 mins. You can also ask the employer to provide a letter saying they used Feb 1st to make it formal, etc.

Ok i will, Thanks a lot for your opinion and advice, i really appreciate it

Hi! Perhaps when asked, which I doubt, you can explain that Feb. 1st was the date the work permit was issued when you and your employer heard it on CIC's automated telephone service 1-888-242-2100. Date of receipt varies on location, so I guess approval date prevails.. Not so sure though...
