WORK PERMIT AFTER STUDIES

Hello wise people,
My question is regarding the application for a work permit. Is it compulsory to apply for a work permit right after completing the studies? My study ends in April end and my study visa expires at November end of this year. So, is it okay if I apply for the work permit later in October or is it compulsory for me to apply right after the studies?
Would it impact my PR application in any manner?

Specifically this:

- You have 180 days after you get your final marks to apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP).

Note that you can't work after you complete your studies until you submit your PGWP application.
