Hello,

I have a query regarding work experience.

I have worked 2 years as a Production Engineer after attending 4 years of bachelors in engineering. However I did not graduate until 1.5 years after my degree.

So can I put my work experience as a Production Engineer although I had not graduated then but have worked in a relevant field to my bachelors?

Thank you for your help in advance
Sincerely,
Mathew

Any work experience obtained before graduation is not counted by CIC.
You can (and you should) put this in your profile, but only about 6 months of those will count towards your claim of points.

Okay Thank You so much for your response. My follow up question to that is since only 6 months goes towards an NOC skill type A, can i put the rest 1.5 years under an NOC skill type B that matches a similar job description and only requires high school education?

It'd be nice to know whether you studied in Canada or outside of Canada as whether you can claim work experience during full-time studies or not is dependent on it.

Hello, I have studied outside of Canada and this is what my profile looks like.

Aug 2009- nov 2014 completed Bachelors in Engineering in India
I only attended as a full time student till May 2013. I had one paper to clear which I did by nov 2014.

between jun 2013 and jun 2015 I worked full time

and 2015 to 2017 have completed my MS as a full time student In USA

I would like to know if I can claim full 2 years of work exp during jun 2013 and jun 2015.

I hope this info helps. Thank you so much for offering to assist

i don't think that's correct, as per delpiero's above reply and my personal experience you can claim it as long as the studies weren't in canada

"Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count."
How would this statement come into play in my situation. I was working full time for a year and a half and not a student . But I had not received my degree certificate as I had an examination to clear. Am I considered a full time student during this period?

This doesn't apply to you since you wasn't studying in Canada.
