Hello Experts,

Could you please advise on the below queries:

1) Work experience letter format.
I worked as a consultant with the government clients, but the client doesn't issue any letter to contractors as it is a rule in government sector.

I have a 8 years full time IT experience and my employer has provided me with the experience letter.
Format -
It high lights role, full time employment, dates, all client names I worked, but does not provide the detail of the responsibilities and duties as per the CIC format.

My question is if I go with the same experience letter, and provide supporting pay slips, Income tax certificates, offer letter and IT certifications, course certificates... will that be sufficient for me to get through the express entry pool?? or will I be rejected?

I am limited with my options of going back to the employer to re-draft the letter so please advise me my chances of getting through with this existing experience letter.

Thanking you all!

The duties of the job are the most important aspect of the reference letter. They need to be listed somewhere.
I've seen some people on the forum use their employment contract which lists their duties in place of including them in the reference letter.

@istari Thanks for your reply.
My contract outlines the below:
POSITION
2.1 Your position is BW Consultant. You will be employed on a full time basis.
2.2 Your duties and responsibilities will be described in detail upon
commencement and they may be defined by a position description that may
be amended from time to time by the company.
2.3 You are required to carry out other duties reasonably required by the
Company that you are skilled and capable of performing.
2.4 You may also be required to perform duties from time to time for the
Company’s Related Entities.
2.5 The Company may alter your position, position description and responsibilities
in accordance with the needs of the business. You may also be redeployed to
another position having regard to your skills, experience and competency.
You agree that the terms of this contract continue to apply unless varied in
writing in accordance with this contract.

I am short of the main document outlining the duties of my position, I guess irrespective of all my paperwork - contract, payslips, Tax, exp letter, I am unlikely to make it through...unless I find the duties document. Thanks

If your employer won't redraft your letter, it's possible to have a colleague write you a reference letter outlining your duties. A letter from a colleague will need to be notorised (as it won't be on company letterhead).
Many people in the forum have used this method when they were unable to get a reference letter from an employer or HR.

If you are able to get a letter from a colleague, it would help if you also have an email from your employer (or a document showing official company policy, etc.) which states that you are unable to get a reference letter from your employer in the required format.

Name and Emp ID
Working Hours, Start and End date
Job Duties
mention annual salary.
additional documents :pay stubs ,t4's , reference letter.
