Hello All,

I am a PhD student in Japan who was awarded a scholarship that covers both tuition fees and living costs for 4 years .As part of my duty ,I am also "TEACHING ASSISTANT" and this is mentioned in my scholarship.
Can this teaching assistant be considered as a work experience .I need work experience to be eligible for Canada Immigration.

Thanks . :D

Were you paid for this work experience ? If not, you can't claim it.

Was the work experience a requirement of your PhD, or a requirement of your scholarship ?
If it was required for your PhD, you can't claim it. If you did not receive educational credit for it, it's eligible.

Thanks a lot for replying.
I am paid via scholarship and I have to be teaching assistant due to that scholarship provided by "school of engineering" of our university.
I does count no credit .I am in charge of tutorial for undergrad students or marking assignments and exams of the corresponding course.
