Hi all - just requiring some confirmation please,

My current work & travel visa (IEC) will expire June 26th, 2020. I am a New Zealand citizen staying with family in BC. I have recently completed profiles for PR and Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) for BC. I'm doubtful I will receive an invitation to apply for either before June 26th. Therefore, yesterday I submitted an Application to Change Conditions IMM5708 - in order to receive a visitor record. I do not wish to travel back to New Zealand at this time, instead I would prefer to stay with family here in BC as a visitor.

  1. Do I gain implied status even If a decision on the visitor record application has not been reached before June 26th?
  2. If yes, does implied status mean I can stay in Canada until a decision has been reached? And I assume I cannot work during this time??
  3. If yes to the above 2 questions, will this have any effects on my PR/PNP applications?
Many Thanks

Jos

1. Yes, you'll have implied status.
2. Yes, you can remain in Canada. You cannot work.
3. No impact.
