Work abroad with a work permit; lose status?

Hi! I am a foreign worker for a Canadian company in Ontario. I've been working there for almost two years and after quarantine I decided to travel back home to be with family in November and have been working remotely since. Is it fine to stay home for a few more months and keep working remotely? How long can I stay abroad while on a work permit? Thank you for your help!

You can stay abroad as long as you want provided your company is fine with this arrangement.

Note that this period outside of Canada will be counted as foreign work experience if you ever intend to apply for PR (not Canadian work experience).
