I'm on an iec visa and need to change to visitor visa but there isn't enough time with the processing time being a month. Do I need to cross the border or will I go on implied status whilst I wait for it to come through?

I am a worker here in Canada and I applied for TVR . i was having the TVR until June 2015 but I was planning to travel in feb till march. and only the 3 moths TVR was left . so applied in Nov 2014 To increase it until June 2016. right now I am on maternity leave so after 3 weeks Ottawa cpp send my passport back along with a letter stating that in order to determine you admissibility to Canada they transfer my file to LOS ANGELES USA. I don't understand why they send my file to USA. Could anyone can answer about this please

As long as your application is received at least 1 day before your status expires you are fine. You will have implied status until the decision is made.

Thanks so much. someone suggested mailing it as the processing time gives me longer for applying for PR .. But my visa runs out on Monday..if I send guaranteed next day delivery will that count as they received it?
