With the current forms and things I need to gather along with the fees for the CEC I probably won't be able to submit an application until mid may the earliest. Will I be at disadvantage? I heard theres some sort of a cap. My work permit expires fall but I already have all the hours needed, so say if I submit May could there be a chance they won't accept anymore applications because of the cap? Bit nervous but just wondering ::)

Nothing to worry. The cap for CEC in 2012 is 10,000. This is the highest number since the CEC was introduced.
As per the historical trend, the CEC limit has never reached its full capacity in any of the years' in the past. Having said this for the full year, it exceeding the 10,000 mark mid year (May / June 2013) is very unlikely.

So relax. Gather all your docs and apply.

Oops... sorry for the typo... the CEC cap in 2013 is 10,000

Thank you as I was worry too. But do not need to forget that they changed rules and more people can apply, even those with IEC visas.

Yes but less work visas were issued in 11/12.

I guess we will all be fine if we send our documents within the coming months. What worries me is if I do send it, then by the time they get around to my application which could be over a year since I left my job due to my work permit. Which sucks since I would of sent the application few months before my work visa expired. ::)
