hi.

i realized that the notarized nikahnama is not considered legal by CIC new delhi. they have called me for interview. can i withdraw my application, get my marriage registered and then reapply again? if i withdraw my application, is there a minimum waiting period before i can apply again?

Your sponsor can opt to withdraw the application. If the notarized Nikah Nama is why you were convoked to the interview, why don't you and your spouse arrange to get your marriage registered and take the proof with you along to the interview?

thank you for replying.

its not possible for us to go get the marriage registered right now as the registrar people want both of us to be present at their office or they won't register it. and my husband cannot come down from canada right now.

Ah. In that case, you both should decide how you want to proceed then. You can opt to withdraw, and advise New Delhi accordingly. If the interview is scheduled soon, perhaps you should go about doing so quickly. Make sure they understand fully your reasons for choosing to withdraw, if that is what you decide to do.

You will be able to re-apply as soon as you comply with all the necessary requirements. Make sure you clearly explain why you had to withdraw earlier. Also, do not simply not show up for the interview, make sure they know you won't be pursuing this application any further and therefore will not be attending the interview.
