Withdrawal of old application and filing of new

I first filed under FSW in June'05. Since I was eligible under 38 list, I reapplied in March'10 received the AOR from CIO in May, sent full Docs on 7th June'10 and I received the 2nd AOR on 17th June.

ECAS reflected status of both files whether I checked with the Old or the New file number -

NAME: Received by Visa Office
NAME: In Process - (processing of your file started on 29th June 2005)

Around 2 weeks back, I faxed a request to to CHC requesting withdrawal of the old application number as both aps were at same VO - I thought it would create confusion.

Now the ECAS says-

NAME: Received by Visa Office
NAME: Withdrawn - (A decision has been made on your application. Visa Office will contact you concerning this decision).

Will the withdrawal of the old application have any bearing on the new application? Will the new application go thru in processing ?

Withdrawl of old application will have no impact on your fresh application, unless there are contradictions in details. So many members here have withdrawn and filed fresh one.
