Any ideas as to how late can one start Winter intake 2023 (Mohawk College). My question is just in case I get a late response from VO. I applied on Sept 30th. Biometrics done. Waiting for medical request.

Every college has different policies on deferment or online classes. Contact your student advisor to know the policies of your college.
I planned to immigrate to canada in September but my visa got delayed so I requested for a deferment by Durham College they haven't provided one yet and I have already booked my flight will I face consequences when I land
I'm assuming your application was approved but you have yet to receive the updated Letter of Acceptance from your College for the new term.
If that's the case, I do believe you will face an issue at the Port of Entry because the VO will request your LOA, which you won't have. You need the LOA for the VO to issue the SP. Without one, I'm afraid they won't let you in.
Maybe someone with more experience and knowledge can chime in...

The thing is your previous LOA is not "valid" anymore because classes started already in September. The way I see it, the only way you are going to be let in is to show an updated LOA for the January 23 term. I've read of people being requested their LOA previous to boarding the plane... if this happens to you, chances are you won't even be able to board the flight.
When are you traveling? Did your College tell you when they are going to send you the updated LOA? Have to tried calling them to express clearly the urgency of the matter?
I emailed my college all this and they responded by saying that due to current situation the defers are taking currently between 6 -8 weeks and in my case 5 weeks have passed and I will be taking the flight on 12 th of November so I highly doubt that I can receive the new LOA what should I do do you have any advice for me
The only advice I can give is:
- Call the College and demand to speak with someone that can help you. Tell them you need the updated LOA ASAP! Not much else to do, honestly.
- Delay your flight to December. Not only because you don't have the LOA but because it is highly advisable to arrive with no more than one month in advance prior to the start of classes. If you arrive earlier, chances are the VO might ask you additional questions. If you can't delay your flight, make sure you have a good reason to give to the officer about why you are traveling so early.

I have a zoom meeting scheduled with my college so i"ll ask about my updated LOA and wait but at the end I" ll delay my flight to the first week of December till then I beleive my LOA will also arrive and VO won't have problems
