Easier said than done. Everyone (Well, at least most people I guess) who lives in Winnipeg has something that ties them to there, like nice jobs, families, affordable housing etc. I mean, there must be something to make them endure the tough weather, as most people don't like tough weather...

So it's not like they can suddenly leave what ties them there for another city...

I live in Northern Manitoba... You think winnipeg has cold weather? ya, ok... We have times here when it goes below -65

Im just saying, everyone who lives in Winnipeg made a decision to be there (whether it may be for Family, work or whatever other reason), the decision was still their's. People shouldn't complain about the decision they have made... If you are unhappy... Make a Change!!!

I agree, some times you can get very cold days in brandon we got about below 52 last year,

For the record, I have nothing against Winnipeg or Manitoba. I choose to live here. But its clear the province is an afterthought to the federal government, as federal services are poor, symbolized by the extreme processing times at the CIC Winnipeg office. One thing I have noticed is that the bulk of the delays appear to be pret-test, even on routine cases. This seems to suggest a lack of personnel to process files once they make it here. I know people whose files are considered routine, but are sitting in Winnipeg over a year with no test.

Just want to share that it took 28 months for me (routine, single, never left Canada) from start to finish with my citizenship application. I applied for a passport after 2 weeks haven't used it so far. I know the waiting is an overkill but as they say, patience is a virtue. I am sure one day all you guys who have been waiting for so long will get it. Good luck to all.

my file just transfered to winnipeg local office, idont know its a good news or bad news :(
