Hi,
I have a Canadian PR. I landed in August 2013 and due to personal reasons, havent been able to migrate yet.
I am interviewing with a Canadian company in Dubai right now. If I get through and start 1st July, will the days be counted towards my PR obligation even though I have just spent 10 days in Canada so far (when I went for my landing).

I understand that I will lose my PR if I don't migrate by August this year.
Will working with the Canadian company save my PR and future citizenship?
Do let me know.
Thank you!

It definitely will not count towards citizenship. You must be physically in Canada in order for the time to count towards citizenship.

Based on the information you have provided, it won't count towards your PR residency requirement either. In order for it to count towards PR, you must first be hired for a full time role that is located within Canada - and then at a later time transferred to the job outside of Canada. If you are being hired directly for the job outside of Canada, this time won't count towards your PR RO.

If you want to save your PR status, you need to actually move back to Canada and stay here.

I guess he can be hired in Dubai, but his salary base must be Canada from day one !

No - that won't work. CIC will still count this as time spent outside of Canada. We've seen others try this and fail. CIC caught on to these loop holes years ago and no longer allows them.
