im currently taking a 3 year program, im on 2nd semester right now. so after finishing this semester, my 1st year will be completed.

.. now, im planning to move into a 1 year master's program after finishing the 2nd semester of my current program.

will this result into 3 year PGWP?

Do you want to drop your 2yr program? Not sure then that after 1 year masters CIC will consider it a two yr program.

will u get a letter from ur college stating ur completed 2 years of education? I dont believe without completing a course u will get a 3 years PGWP. I believe u need to complete whatever course u have started to count towards PGWP.

criteria is not th amount of time spent as a student but a degree/diploma ..check this out

As long as your credits are being transferred of the first program which you will leave after 3 or 4 semesters (if your college has this program as some colleges do that after 1 year of program, some of the programs allow you to go for masters), then smile, ball is in your court. But if it's otherwise, you won't qualify for 3 years PGWP. PGWP will be based ont he length of Masters' program duration. However, you can qualify for Ontario Masters's PNP, I believe it's still active and has a cap of 1300 applications a year (at least this is the CAP they had for 2013). So check with your college if you will get credit transfer and check the Ontario Masters PNP program.
