Hi everyone!

I am considering a job with the title of "Customer Service and Marketing Administrator". It's a dual role that provides reception/front desk duties (e.g. answering incoming calls, greeting visitors and clients) as well as marketing & sales support (e.g. website maintenance, e-mail deployment, updating/querying a database and generating reports).

The position provides a good exposure to different operational aspects of the organization. But I'm also concerned about whether or not this position is eligible for CEC due to its job title and partial administrative nature of the position. Do you think this job will be eligible for CEC?

Thanks!

Email HRSDC all your duties and they will give you better response regarding your NOC.

Hi PRsuccess,

Your job title will depend on your detailed job description. The company can give you any title, but the officer will take a look at the job description signed by your employer. My question to you is
1- Have you been given an official job description?
2- Or can you write your own job description and get it signed by your boss?

If its case 1 - then as Goku mentioned, send it to HRSDC and see what code or title they label it as.

If its case 2 - then you may want to lessen the 'phone greeting, emailing' aspects of your job and emphasize more on tasks that will qualify your role for a marketing job title. So instead of just generating reports, you may right, collecting, analyzing and presenting reports to senior management, etc. Otherwise, if you only mention basic tasks, the officer might not consider your application in the CEC categories: O, A, B

All the best.

Hi Goku and InfoSeeker12,

Thank you so much for your advice! It's not an official job description yet, but I'll e-mail HRSDC once I get an official job description to get their opinion on this.

Thanks again!

It is not about the job title but the NOC Code you will be under based on your job description.
Please be aware too that there are NOC's no longer eligible for CEC.
Check cic site for the updated list.
