Hi, me and my partner have lived from May 2017 to now, and we have proof of this with our lease and rental payments and such. I have one slight problem. We lived in our first place from May 2017 to September 15th (that least ended on September 1, but we payed 2 weeks rent until the 15th until we could move into the new place, but only her name was on this receipt), and our new lease started on October 1st 2017. The thing is, there could maybe be a gap from Sept 1st to October 1st. We did live in the new place starting Sept 15th though, and in the old place until the 15th, and we have proof of payment for it, but only my partners name was on the receipt for this short time. Is this going to be a problem?

Just to clarify, we were living together during this time, just my names weren't on the receipt during that short period for either place, so it doesn't necessarily show I was living with her. We had some troubles moving in between those new places, so we had to extend the last month of our old place, and move in to the new place two weeks before we signed our new lease.

Do you have a bill for September with your address? Bank or CC statements showing transactions in Canada? Would just explain the moving situation. There is a valid excuse that makes sense. It should not be a problem.

Actually I found a tenant ledger saying "Move in date, Sept 15th" with both our names on it. And a greetings from the landlord on September 15th. There is also on the previous ledger showing she extended our stay at that place for two weeks, my name wasn't on that ledger for the old place because I moved in at a later date(my name is on the lease though). I think it would be pretty logical for them to think I was with her for those two weeks.

Greetings from the landlord will definitely work. Not sure what the ledger looks like and whether CIC will be able to read it out of context but sure include it. 15 days without proof you lived together will not be a problem and they will understand that due to the move the 2nd signature on the receipt was overlooked.

I think we do have proof, we extended our old residency until sept 15th, then for the new place we have a letter from the landlord, and ledger (shows our payments) with a move in date at the top saying "Move in Date, sept 15th, even though the lease started October 1st. it shows we moved in two weeks prior. I think this should definetly be fine if I explain that we just had a move in mixup since we have proof.

Think you should be fine. Don't include too much information:)
