Hi. I am currently residing in the Caribbean. The island that I live, has an increase in crimes and murder over the past 5 years. I am also a gay male. My country frowns and mistreat gay persons. We have little to no rights here as gay persons. I have been in a few situations involving the law enforcement here where there was not even a police report written. I am now getting threatening comments thrown at me, strange looks and even my family is treating me differently. I want to move to canada before something happens to me but I'm in fear that they won't approve me considering I haven't been tortured or abused. Will I be considered because I'm feeling mistreated because of my sexual orientation?

Agreed - you won't be approved as a refugee. You don't qualify.

If you wish to immigrate to Canada you should do so under a different category (e.g. skilled worker).
