We have filed for the spousal visa on Dec. 15 2013. While we wait for this to be reviewed what are the chances of being granted a temporary visa for my wife to come visit me here in Canada?

It's impossible for any of us to say what the chances are that a TRV will be approved. However you can certainly try and see what happens. Having a PR application in progress and/or being married to a Canadian does unfortunately tend to reduce the chances of approval.

thank you for the reply. this is what we have been thinking also, but unsure. we went the lawyer route with our applications just to feel more confident in that all is complete and anything necessary included. another question i have is when first the sponsors application is reviewed first. when a decision is made how does the sponsor find out this?
