Will a visitor visa delay my process?

Hi, All. My wife is now a visiting scholar in Canada with a visit record and I plan to see her in this December. Originally, I thought I could get my PR visa before that, however, I am still waiting for my MR till now.

Do you think if I apply for a visitor visa at the end of October, my immigration process will be delayed further?

Applying for a visitor visa does not have anything to do with your CEC application. They are different matters.
