I wonder if the incoming refugees from around the world, and the recent intake of 25,000 Syrian Refugess will impact students getting jobs in ottawa, toronto, winnipeg and all other important cities where the refugees will start a new life.

look for a-list-of-canadian-cities-which-will-welcome-syrian-refugees on global news dot ca

How does the government plan to give these refugees a sober living when they are already in state of trauma leaving their homecountry in war? What will be impact of jobs - will student visa international students be at loss becoz the refugees may willingly or forcefully accept any wages for surviving.

May god bless the refugees but what will be the impact of this on the job market - esp STUDENT JOBS and POST GRADUATION WORK ?

Approx 1-1.5 lac international students get study permit and come to canada every year, if these new immigrants dont disturb the job market for students who are already there from last few years, then i dont think 25k poor refugees will affect the jobs.

Thank You singhHoney21 for the perspective.

But does the government plan to reduce giving student visa or PGWPs due to focus on humanitarian immigration or refugee rights?

Anything in the local news you've read there or any changes in the general category immigration due to this intake?

students are cash cows for Canadian economy they will generate huge revenue in Canadian economy i don't think they will reduce the student visas

Hey mead, can u put some light on scope of cash jobs in GTA? Is it fine to do cash jobs in canada as an international student? What if student caught doing cash job, whats the consequences?

I don't think so. The requirement of new houses and other necessities for accommodating these refugees will generate jobs in a manner for fixed duration. They just cannot take away the jobs of students just like that, who have become expert in particular tasks. The refugees have to work hard to make their on path in this job market.

never work for cash jobs its a huge risk. if u r caught u will have lots of problems and may never get canadian PR. Also never work more than authorized that also can cause problems in PR process. Jobs r not easy u have to look hard go from place to place drop off resume , apply online a lot too, make friends and see if they know anyone looking for employees. it will take 2-3 months or more to find a part time job unless u have good friends who have lined up a job for u.

Almost my every friend are doing cash jobs there, and they said there is no problem in doing cash jobs and they never heard that anyone get caught by police. So please clarify me, what are the chances of getting caught.
