Hi, so what if I land within the stipulated period after getting PPR (wife as co-applicant), but the wife doesnt land in the stipulated period before expiry of medicals? What would happen in such a scenario if the wife wants to join later?

If you are not planning for getting a new spouse there ( just kidding... ), it's better for her to go to Canada, activate her PR and then come back in 1-2 days. Return ticket shouldn't cost more than Rs. 40k-60k but you will have peace of mind and no unexpected shocks from CIC.
She will need to be sponsored from scratch through Family Sponsorship. This is a long process than can take anywhere from several months to several years. Yes - the medicals will have to be done again - so will the background and security checks. You will also have to fill out extensive forms.
Additionally, since the sponsor is a PR, that sponsor must be living in Canada from the time the application is submitted until processing is complete. They cannot move back to their home country or move elsewhere for work in the world. Short trips (2-3 weeks) outside of Canada are allowed.
I have a small query aswell. I am planning to land next month and my spouse will be joining later. Is it alright if she joins in later (prior expiry of visa a medicals)? What formalities will be required for her?
