Hi all,
my wife got a temporary job offer for a Postdoctoral Fellow until 2022.
When we came to Canada last year, I was issued an open work permit (OWP) valid until 2022 as well.
My wife changed her work contract (change of funding, she got an external grant) and needs to apply for a new WP (accoring to her HR).
On my OWP it states: OPEN SPOUSAL WP ISSUED TO CLIENT AS HE ACCOMPANIES HIS SPOUSE ON A VALID WP (UCI XXXXXXXX).
I assume the UCI of my wife will stay the same, even if she needs to reapply for her work permit.
Will my OWP stay valid, or does it expire once my wife gets an updated WP ussued?

PS: I am currently taking care of our child (does he need a new Visitor Record as well?), but I am looking for work in Canada as well.
