Hello Everyone,

I need some information as i am looking for some possiblities into my scenario.

My wife is currently in Canada visiting for 6 months until July 5th-2012 . The PR application is in process in Islamabad office as of August 2011. My wife's visit visa was granted on the basis that there will be a Reception ceremony in Canada. Since she's already here in Canada is it possible for her PR to be processes and file transfered here in Mississauga for the process to be complete? since she is already here it would make more sense that she doesn't have to wait oversea's for the PR to be approved.

Any suggestions?

Thank You

Mississauga only deals with stage one of family sponsorship from my understanding. I don't think they deal with anything as far as stage two. It will be processed in Islamabad office, and that's where her file will stay until she's asked for an interview, approved or denied. She can stay and extend her visitors visa(I believe, not too familiar with visa's from Islamabad) but if she's called for an interview, it's going to be in Islamabad.

We enquired CIC about the possibility of transferring an outland application to inland and were told that it would be a cancellation of the existing outland application and then reapply inland from scratch.

If the PR application is already in process, then when her visa expires, she can apply for an extension (can be done online in 15 minutes), and she can have it in less than 2 weeks. I've done it before. Just explain the situation that you are waiting for PR application to finish. They will require proof of valid passport and proof of funds-we used my husband's T4 to show he could support me while I was in Canada(you can upload as pdf or jpg). If an interview is required, she will need to return to home country for that.
