My wife changed her maiden name to our shared last name and when she received her new passport we sent a Case Specific Inquiry to CiC showing the name change / scans. We also mailed printed copies as well as provided an explanation cover letter directly to Manila VO. The postal service confirmed delivery but it has been weeks and we have not been given any response that the name change was accepted. We have checked online including the new merged system and nothing has been updated. Has anyone received confirmation of a name change or does it just magically happen online? This seems a bit long for something so integral.

I did the same and never heard back from them about it. I got doc requested a few weeks ago and they didn't mention it then either. I feel a bit lost about where my application is right now really.Sorry, this isn't helpful but I'd really like to hear the answer to your question!

Could just be a Manila VO thing...they can be umm....slow sometimes. We are mostly concerned because its getting closer to PPR time as we are a February applicant. We had to re-medical with additional tests that delayed 8 weeks for the test and another 4 weeks to see the doctor again so we hoped there would be enough time for the name change. Would be a travesty if all our documents came in her old name when her passport is updated for the new.

Oh the name changed today! The old system wouldn't let her login with her maiden name...and instead took our married name! :) But the new online GCKEY has not been updated yet. Oh well one less thing to worry about...was concerned landing documents would be in the wrong name.
