Hi everyone,
I’m exploring an interesting issue that I thought might resonate with tech-savvy members here, especially those working in Canada or planning to move. Recently, I noticed that my hotel (I run a small hospitality business) is no longer showing up in AI-generated search answers on platforms like Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. Previously, when I asked about accommodations or local hotels, my property would appear, but now it’s completely missing from these AI-driven results.
I understand this isn’t directly about immigration, but it made me think about how information visibility works online—something that could affect newcomers starting businesses, finding services, or even researching local areas in Canada. AI platforms increasingly summarize and highlight information, but they may not reflect smaller businesses or updated listings unless the data is structured properly or publicly accessible.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of “AI invisibility” for their businesses or services? I’d be interested to know if newcomers who open a business in Canada have to take extra steps to make sure AI systems recognize them—similar to how we make sure Express Entry profiles are complete and optimized to appear in the pool.
Any insights on why AI might drop certain listings and what strategies could help restore visibility would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
