Why did they ask for My son's PR

I am already a Canadian Citizen
Recently I applied for my 13 YO son for the citizenship
I received a letter asking for his original PR to be posted to them
Is that normal ?

They need to receive your son's PR Card in order to destroy it and mail you his citizenship certificate.
