Hi All,

I have a problem and I hope someone can point me in the direction of a solution.

I am currently in canada working on the New Zealand Working Holiday Program. This is a one year open work visa.

This visa is expiring in about 6 months which is before my current employment contract ends. I work as an IT contractor and job classification is A according to that schema.

I was planning on returning on the SWAP visa which was a one year extension to the WHP. This visa type has been cancelled this year.

I would very much like to remain in Canada for a while longer.

What is the simplest way to accomplish this goal. And will it be possible to do all this without leaving Canada (short trips / border poling aside).

Thanks for your attention.

I still have my fingers crossed that the NZ working holiday will be updated as the Australian one was to allow people to return, but I'll not hold my breath.

1. Your employer would have to obtain an LMO (Labour Market Opinion) form HRSDC Canada that there were no Canadians/PRs available for the job, it was advertised on the job bank for 2 weeks, demonstrate to HRSDC why the Canadians/PR who applied weren't qualified, that the wages are average for the job. If it is approved, then you could apply through Vegreville for a new work permit.
