I am currently in the process of sponsoring my husband, who is a US Citizen. Since his job as an HVAC tech is seasonal and his employer wanted to hire and train new technicians before spring, he left his job before Christmas and took advantage of the six month long visit loophole to spend a few months with me. What we didn't expect was to receive an email the photocopy of his passport, photos and a return address for his Confirmation of Permanent Residency before he had returned to the states (our estimated wait time was a year and it's been less than six months total).
Though we are absolutely thrilled that it moved through so fast, I'm now confused about which address to send the package from and what return address to give them for the documents. Should we purchase a rush ticket home for my husband, and have him mail the package from his home in Kansas? Or should we just send it from here and have him re-enter Canada at the nearest border? Would that get us in trouble? His current return ticket is for April 8th, could we mail the forms from my Canadian address, with a prepaid return envelope for Kansas and have Jake pick them up when he gets there in April? I am literally terrified of loosing his confirmation over a postal error.
