Hello,

I am a fresh graduate from India and considering applying for Quebec Immigration to move to Canada. I have heard that they have a variety of jobs they accept for work experience, but I just want to be sure that the job I take in India will be 100% accepted for Quebec Immigration. Here are a few questions:

1) So where do I find out what jobs will be accepted?

2) Will 1 year of work experience be enough?

3) Will 1 year of learning French from Alliance Francaise be satisfactory for passing the French criteria? Ofcourse, I know it is very difficult to master French and 1 year is never enough. But from the point of view of Quebec immigration, would I be able to get through? I have a good grasping power fwiw. Is there any level of French I need to be at?

4) Once I submit my documents to Quebec, what's the approximate wait time before getting my CSQ?

5) Do I have to apply separately for PR or does it come together with the CSQ? If yes, when do I have to apply for PR and how long does that take?

Thanks in advance. Highly appreciate the help!

Regards.

You should try the self evaluation for Quebec here: http://www.form.services.micc.gouv.qc.ca/epi/index.jsp?languageCode=en and try to put in different type of degrees and work experience and see what happens.

Doing a one year course depends on how intensive it is. If it is 2 nights a week, 3 hrs. a night, that's 312 hrs. over a whole year if there are no breaks. That might be enough to get you somewhere between basic and moderate level if you are a good student.

You can learn more about the application process on the Quebec immigration website above as well as here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/quebec/index.asp

You will have to ask Quebec immigration how long it takes to get the selection certificate but you can see the PR processing times here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-que.asp
