Which is better? Notarized by the lawyer or attested by a Commissioner of Oaths.

Friends, I am in a dilemma. Getting all of my documents notarized by a lawyer, here in Calgary, is uber expensive-almost 60 bucks. However Commissioner of Oaths only charges 10 dollars for attestation. Can anyone kindly tell me whether attestation is good enough? The document just has the same seal, date signed, doc verified and so on just as in a a notarized copy. Please help me and thanks in advance.
