Which IELTS test should i take?

I am planning to apply jobs for an Assistant professor post in Canadian colleges through express entry PR, can anyone suggest which IELTS test should I take, IELTS General or Academic. Please advise.

are you applying for a job or PR? both are different things

anyway its General which you need to write, academic is only if you are a student taking up a course to study in canada

Thanks, I will start search for jobs soon after getting IELTS score. Meanwhile I will apply for PR through express entry after the necessary documentation.

its almost impossible to get a job sitting outside canada without having either work permit or PR... would be better if you apply after you get PR you know - make things easier
