Hi everyone...

We're planning to submit our sponsorship application next week...*fingers crossed*

Looks like it will consist of 3 envelopes:

1. Sponsor's forms and supporting documents
2. Sponsored person's forms and supporting documents
3. Relationship proofs

This page says:

"Place the barcode page on the top of each individual package."

So for instance, in the "sponsor's forms and supporting documents" envelope, should the barcode of IMM1344 be placed at the very top?

What about the checklist though...(IMM 5491), I thought it makes more sense if the checklist comes first??

You can form them in different forms. I did as following:
1. Sponsor appls
2. Immigration (Applicant) appls
3. Supporting docs

Anyways, you have to place sponsorship application barcode page on top of everything.

I put all bar codes right on the very top, so when they opened the application package, it's the first thing they would see and they could scan it right away. I followed the bar codes immediately by the checklist.

Just do it the way that u see fit. The guidelines aren't 100% clear so everyone's setup might be slightly different.

It says document checklist first right? then I stapled the form IMM1344 and put the barcode page on the first page.

Don't staple anything in your application as CIC will have to remove the staples to scan your documents. Use paperclips instead.

I didn't read anything like that, and I always do that every time I apply for work permit, visa in the immigration and it worked. Anyways, I'm on stage 2 already...

This is like the chicken or the egg; which came first?

I put the barcodes right on top. Whereas a friend of mine put the checklist right on top. As long as one or the other is the first thing, followed by the other, I think you're okay.

Hello

What happens when they scan the bar-codes? All info from the applications is automatically transferred in some sort of text editing program?

Just that ONE form. And supposedly it is supposed to automatically send out an AOR but doubtful!

Ok now I understand why people were confused about this, Bar code or checklist lol I am in the same boat as I am going to send the application.

So if I put the bar code page on top for Sponsor Forms which has 7 pages and bar code page is no 7, Should I put the Checklist immediately after the codebare page and then the IMM344 page 1 to 6 ?

Now the sponsored Form (IMM008) is tougher as it has 2 pages with code bar and the second page contain the signature also so If I put the page 5 of 6 and 6 of 6 on Top should I put the Checklist after it or after the end of the Form ? As the signature page will come on top the remaining Form will look incomplete and not in order :(

OMG what a mess I don't know what to do lol
