hi, i'll start with my back story.

i applied for and got a 1 year work visa for Canada over the internet. the one where u have to be aged 18-30 to be eligible.

so i left Australia for Toronto June 2006. got a job at Sportchek pretty quick and all was well. that was until i broke my ankle in August 2006 cutting my trip short and returning home.

my work visa expired June 2007.

so here is what i want to know. seeing as i am now 31 i am ineligible for the work visa i used previously, is their any other work visa i can apply for? if Sportchek offer my old job back can i return? can i be 'sponsored' by an employer? what are my options?

i miss Toronto terribly and want to return to live and work there with the dream of becoming a permanent resident.

thanks in advance for any help. :)

1. You get one shot at the work permit under the SWAP/Bunac plan from Australia
2. Sport Chex would have get a Labour Market Opinion from HRSDC Canada that there are no Canadians/PRs available for the job and they have advertised extensively (12-16 weeks for LMO after advertising) If it was sales/clerical position no chance that the LMO would be approved. You have to have the approved LMO to get a new work permit for Canada.

thanks for the speedy reply. :)

ah crap. not what i wanted to hear, lol. so i assume my only legal chance of getting to live and work in Canada is to find the love of my life and have her be Canadian and end up getting married/sponsored and live happily ever after? gee whiz, that's gonna be tough. :/
