Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

We've just applied for Canadian citizenship...

Application sent in August/2014 ... and I received an EMAIL saying that CIC received my application on 17/09/2014.

After that date, I received my Traveler History from CBSA...
proving that I have not left Canada anytime in the past 3 years (I mean it has only 1 entry when I first became a landed immigrant)

Question 1: Can I send this as an additional document to support my application?

Question 2: Where to check my status?
When I Go here I get a message that they couldn't find my file.

Is this delay normal?
Thanks :)

1- Yes you can if you believe you should've sent them. Make sure to include your client ID and the application no. you recevied in the email AOR.
2- Yes, it's normal to all applicants under the new routine

Thanks... do you think that even if this report will support my application
I shouldn't send it to them?

Would it be harmful in anyway to the application)? like causing delay for example?

I gave them my consent to request from CBSA, but since I'm not required to send the CBSA traveler history, I thought that it would expedite my process (a little bit) since it has 1 entry to Canada (when I first became a landed immigrant).

Thanks again :)

Just submit what has been asked. Submitting additional documents doesn't hurt but if RQ is bound to happen then you can't avoid it by sending additional documents.

Just remember, CIC officers have lots of experience in assessing the application.

Thank you...
If I send them, I should just send it to the same address to which I sent my citizenship application?
and put a cover letter that has my client ID and the application no?

Or there is another place/address that I should send to?

I see here that they are suggesting to send to an address in Ottawa... but its an old 2012 thread, so i'm not sure

Thanks for pointing me to the new routine thread... looks like CIC are testing lots of things on applicants 8)

Best wishes, :)

From experience... I would say that not all CIC officers are with the same/similar experience and efficiency ;)

Just look at the other members who call the CIC call center (for various reasons),
and each time they get different reply (from a different agent).

I would say that Canadian citizenship applications, are one of the most non-standardized applications in Canada.
This RQ thing, is SO judgmental... that's why you hear about applicants with "clean" application & still getting it!!

Its not an issue if CIC wants to double check.. that's for the good of all of us...
the problem is that this double checking is delaying the application for long periods of time.

Lets see how things will go, as each application is new case to a CIC officer. :)

Calling CIC call centre is a different story because you talk to agents. They are not the officers who would be assess the file.
The officer assessing the files would be very experienced and they know what they are doing because they work on so many applications a day. That is what I was rerferring to.
