Hi ..

I received my passport request today. My case was being processed in London and my UK Visa expired and I came back to Pakistan. I notified them about it with change of address. Now in Letter they are asking me to send passport to London office.

Do you guys have any idea that DHL will take my passport to UK ? or I have to send my passport to Islamabad High Commission..

Please reply soon

Thanks

You have a bit of a complicated situation.

You do have to send your passport to the London office for visa stamping since this is your visa office.

However in Pakistan it is illegal to send passports by post or by courier. So no - DHL will not deliver your passport there.

To the best of my knowledge your only two options are to either travel to the UK yourself to deliver the passport - or authorize someone (e.g. friend, family member) who is traveling from Pakistan to the UK to courier it by hand for you.

Just to add...

I don't think it would harm to contact the London VO to see if you have any options (e.g. visa stamping at Islamabad).

However you should definitely start figuring out how to get your passport to London if no transfer is possible.

Called Fedex and DHL .. They wont take my passport to London Office.
Also .. no friend of mine traveling to UK
Sent email London High Commission .. waiting for their response

Thanks for info .

This isn't as difficult as you might think.
Call up your nearest British embassy or consulate in your region of Pakistan, and explain the situation to them. They have diplomatic bags which come and go on a daily (sometimes weekly) basis, and there's no reason why you can't give them your passport and have it sent off like that. They may charge you a fee to do it, but it's much easier than going to London in person.

Spoke to Islamabad High Commission this morning. They asked to send passport with letter/email from London Office to ISB High Commission. I've sent it already. Now waiting for it to come n I'm flying then ..

Thanks Sweden, it's been really long and frustrating but all good now.

I was reading some previous posts, looks like passport should be back in 2-4 weeks

Yes - I think it was the same for Yasin that got the PPR and then got the passport back after 2 weeks, so I hope it's the same for you so you can move to Canada before Christmas!

To be honest, contacting high commission was never so helpful, most of the things I came to know were from this forum. I've been reading posts of zaig, imran901 and yasin coz they were Pakistanis and applied in London.

passport returned from ISB High Commission
they asked to follow step 1 & Step 2 process ...
