Hello! I am simply lost! Myself, my partner and our child want to move to Canada in a few months. Today was the first day i went about applying for whatever i need to apply for but im a bit lost!
Where do i start?
I filled out an assement form. Do i just wait for them to get back to me?
Anybody with any bit of info would be really helpful, im clueless! ???

Unless you have a job offer lined up, the expectation to move to Canada in a few months ambitious.

The only assessment you need to take is from CIC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/eligibility.asp

It's instant, no need to wait for a lawyer or legal aid to call you back. See what CIC recommends, then you can post here again (I'll see it on my replies and answer you or others on the forum will jump in and help out) or you can post in the special section for your recommended immigration path.

Thank you very much for replying! That helps so much.
Aparntly the visas are becoming available in the next 2 weeks.
With only 5000 available do you think i should look for a job and then apply to the CIC?
We werent planing on leaving until about June so i dont think looking for a job now makes any sence. What do you think?

You'll have to be far more specific about which program you're talking about for us to be able to provide any sort of help. Under which program did you see that 5,000 visas would becoming available in a few weeks? It is under one of the international experience visas? Federal Skilled Worker? Something else? Again, without much more information there's going to be little we can offer in the way of suggestions.

I ciara,
I just read your post. I am new at this as well. I am still trying to figure out the process so maybe as we find out we can help one another. What I did find out is that I can apply through FSWC which will open May 2013. (federal skilled worker class) I am single until you I am not married. I am a female in my thirties and I am a citizen of the Bahamas. Where are you from? do u have any degrees? like I se aid if i find out anything i will keep u posted. I have done the assesment as well. Also have u looked into the provinces to apply there like BC or manitoba?
