When to apply for a new passport in Canada

Hi ,

My mother's PR application is in final stages (got medical and policy certificate request) and I am wondering that what would be the best time to apply for a new passport .

Super Visa to Expire - Nov 2018
Passport to Expire - Dec 2018

She is in Canada right now and if she get the new passport , would the super visa on the old passport be valid or do we have to get a new one before the PR is final .

I am not sure if we should wait for the PR first or apply for new passport ASAP.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Specifics on when to apply for a new passport should be asked to the local embassy. TRVs and PRs are not bounded to any passport.

You may also want to consider how long it takes for her home country's consulate/embassy in Canada to process passports. Anyway, as Jalex said, it's not bound to any passport. Even if she gets a new passport, the super visa in the old passport should still be valid. It will only be invalidated after she completes her PR landing.
