When im sending a copy of my marriage certificate, does it have to be notarized? or is it ok that I just photocopy it on my own and send it?

In my opinion for such an important document it would be best to have it notarized/certified as true copy...However it depends what visa office abroad will be processing it. Some offices accept plain photo copies while others must be certified. That information can normally be found in your "specific instructions" for your country.

My spouse is in Lebanon, and it says Certified translations into English or French required, with copies of the original documents for IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS. Would that include Marriage certificate, and I don't want to sound dumb, but is it basically saying, that I send the Original with the translation (certified), not a notarized copy.

I do have notarized copies but it was done in Lebanon, is that acceptable or does it have to be done in Canada?

It can be done abroad. When there is a translation they want the translation to be the original one, but the actual certificate given to you at the time of marriage in the other language can be a photocopy. If your visa office returns official items then you could send the original certificate along with the translation.
