When is the right time to defer?

Hi,

My application was submitted through an agent on Feb 21.
Biometrics done 2nd of March.
Since then there has been no update. Status on tracker shows that nothing has started besides biometrics “in progress”.

My classes start May 8th and deadline for submission of study permit is 12th of May.

My agent says I should already request for deferment with the college. When is the right time to defer?

Should I submit a webform to request for faster processing?

This is a really hard time for me as it feels like everyday there’s no updates with my case.

Which office?

you can raise a web form but if it is still within the processing they will not get back to you

but you don’t have to rush also to defer because you might get a response before then

just wait until close to the last day and if you have not received an answer you can defer

It’s currently about 7 weeks. Processing times are 8 weeks so I can raise a webform next week. However my agent says it’s not good to raise the webform now because I raised a webform 2 weeks ago to send an updated LOA. My agent says I will also be raising a webform for deferment. So it’s best to not raise too many webform.

Thoughts?
