I'm sure this question has been asked before - however I can't seem to find it - does the average processing time start from the date the embassy receives the application or from the date when it says 'in process'?

The Canadian High Commission in London received my application June 8th (2011) - but it's been 'in process' since August 2nd - So from which date is 'the average processing time'?

Hopefully that makes sense :)

I'd like to add that it seems to be the latter (that the average processing time is from when in process) - but lots of people in here seem to write that it's from when it's received. That's why I am confused...
It's quite possible that I sound like a complete idiot ???

In my mind I see the apps going into a big stack upon arrival and processing starts when they get down to yours in the stack and actually open it. So, I think posted processing time starts when they open your app, but you never really know.

Does that mean you only waited 3 months to become a PR :)?

No. Processing time starts on the day they receive your application...

No Maple3 - unfortunately not. I haven't received my PR yet. They received my application in June and started processing it a couple of weeks ago :)
Thanks for your replies :)

on e-cas, it said they started processing the file of my wife the day they put her visa...so it's from the date they receive it!

If its from the time they start processing, mine took less than 2 days.

Plus 1 to Kess for going straight to the source.

And yes Kess, thanks for link, that's exactly what I've been looking for but was never able to find.
