I completed my health check up tests in January 2007.
I visited Canada the first time in December 2007.

Does the 5 year rule start from January 2007 or December 2007?
If it is December 2007 (as it says in the PR card), then I have to live 2 years before December 2012 - Am I right? Is there a chance that it could be started right from the health check up date? there is another subsidiary requirement that we visit within one year of the health check up. I thought both the deadlines start from the same point of time...

Please advise.
Thanks

The medical tests are to get your PR visa. Usually your PR visa is valid for first entry to Canada for a year after you do the medicals. After you land as a PR, the date of the medicals is no longer important. The important date is when you landed as a PR. You have to stay in Canada for 730 days in any 5 year period, the first 5 years after you got your PR and any 5 year period after that.

Thank you for your reply.
An officer at the immigration section said something similar - I wanted to confirm that with the experienced people here. Thanks again.
