When do I start waiting?

Hello guys,
I wanted to know when does the actual waiting time start? From the day you apply for your PR, or form the day you get a file number?

From a practical standpoint, obviously the wait starts from the day you send your application, because technically, you are waiting to receive a file number or to have it returned. CIC processing times are from the day the application is received.

The actual wait game starts once you get your AOR. The next step is medicals. The average wait time between AOR and Medicals request is 8 months.

Avg waiting time between your application recieved and Medical = 8 months
Avg time between medical and your landing=4 months
