Is it true that after 2 years of post secondry diploma students normelly get a 3 years work permit, if yes then is it compulsery to work in similer field as your study?
And when a student can apply for PR (after 1 year of work permit or after 3 years ) and on what grounds ?

It will b great if somone please clear that confusions thnx !

same course and same level of employment is a better option .

There is a possibility to get a 3 year work permit after 2 years of study, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp

It is an open work permit so you can take any job, however, if you want to immigrate, it should at least be a skilled job.

There are options to apply for PR under the provincial nominee program in your province or even another province, sometimes enough to have a job offer, sometimes you need to work 3 or 6 months. If you do this, you may have to stay with that employer so if you lose the job, you might have a problem.

It is also possible to work for one year and then apply under Canadian Experience Class. If you do that, it doesn't matter if you stay with the same employer. You don't even have to stay in Canada.

Hi Friends,,,,,,,work permit did not mention any thing,,,about job.....this is just permission for work....

PGWP for 3 years will be open in any situation and study,..

just difference is that,,,every province has different policy for PR.....

some restrict for 1 year work in study relevant field,,,,some require just 1 year work, not necessary in your study field.......

Thanks
