good day everyone,

can someone help me or provide me some solutions on this?

what type of visa should my girlfriend apply for since some article shows that there is no more fiance visa provided here in canada.
i am currently a permanent resident here in toronto, my girlfriend currently works in dubai international airport and we both want her to work and stay here in canada. we are both filipino citizens. and we've been together for almost a year now thru skype emails and phonecalls.
if she needs to apply for a working visa does she needs to find an employer first? i really have no idea about immigration rules.

i really need your help and would be glad to here some comments from you guys.

If she wants to apply for a work permit then she will first need to obtain a full time job offer from a Canadian employer and that employer must obtain an approved LMIA. The LMIA process is long and expensive. It's generally very difficult to find an employer willing to go through the process. But some people are certainly successful.

In order to sponsor her for permanent residency, you must either be married or common law. Common law means you have physically live together continuously for at least one full year.

The easiest way to bring her would be to get married and then you return to Canada and sponsor her for PR. During the time she is waiting for PR, she can continue her job. You have to continue to reside in Canada during the processing time. The listed processing time right now is 17 months, updated here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/ They give the time it takes to process 80% of cases so your case could be faster.

As for bringing her to Canada on a work permit, it would be hard because it requires finding an employer who is not only ready to spend time and money to apply for her LMIA (Labour market assessment) but can also prove that they couldn't find any qualified Canadians or PR's for the job. Otherwise they wont get it. Getting a study permit for her should be easier. She'd have to get accepted to college and you'd have to pay the tuition for an international student though and that gets expensive.
